More Call of Cthulhu releases from Chaosium...

#53 the straight scoop from the well of chaos...

Down Darker Trails is a setting supplement with scenarios useable with Call of Cthulhu and Pulp Cthulhu. It introduces a new setting for the game—the American West of the late 19th century. The era of gold rushes, outlaws and lawmen, discovery and expansion.
Down Darker Trails contains two complete towns—the gold-hungry Pawheton and San Rafael on the Texas border—and describes four different Lost Worlds, from the weird subterranean world of K’n-yan to the eerie Shadow Desert.
The 256 page full color book is also packed with advice on creating campaigns and adventures, including two complete introductory-level adventures.

So saddle up! Get yourself a posse together and have a look-see what’s over that hill. There’s strange rumors coming in from the whisperin’ desert. You’d best put a round in that iron and make haste!
Remember, if you buy the Down Darker Trails PDF now, you'll get the full price of the PDF off the price of printed book when it becomes available at Chaosium.com in a few months time

Last year, thanks to Call of Cthulhu fans all over, Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition won the inaugural Dragon Award for Best RPG. This year, Pulp Cthulhu has been nominated for the same category (Best Science Fiction or Fantasy Miniatures / Collectible Card / Role-Playing Game)!
If you voted in the 2016 Dragon Awards, you will get your ballot by email.
If you didn't take part last year, you can sign up to vote until Sunday, August 28th at 11:59PM (EDT):
The winners will be announced at Dragon Con 2017 in Atlanta, September 1 - 4.
It would be wonderful if Pulp Cthulhu followed suit and won this year, so please vote Pulp!

Khan of Khans: mysterious ships bearing magnificent goods...

The ships bringing Khan of Khans to our fulfilment warehouses in Australia, the USA and UK have set sail from Hong Kong, and will be arriving later this month (August 2017 - on schedule, which is GREAT). But in the meantime our wonderful printers have airshipped Rick Meints some copies, so while we're all waiting we can at least have a look at what the finished product looks like!
Rick unboxes the metal tin and standard boxed versions of Khan of Khans.

Type 40 indulges their passion for Call of Cthulhu

Our friends, the incredible prop-makers at Type 40, have paused from making cool stuff for Stan Lee and Thor to indulge their other passion - Call of Cthulhu.

They have just launched a Kickstarter for these gorgeous hand-made leather document wallets, ideal for your CoC books and notes.

Check out the campaign here; the Kickstarter launched a couple of days ago, and is already 95% funded!
What is Ab Chaos?
(...from Ab Chaos #7, May 31 1992)

Ab - Latin "from"
Chaos - (1) Any condition or place of total disorder (modern vernacular); (2) the disordered state of unformed matter which preceded creation (since Milton, Paradise Lost); (3) the dark, empty space which preceded creation (Greek Mythology); (4) the [formerly] Californian roleplaying game company.

Ab Chaos is an informal newsletter for Chaosium fans. Through our history we have tried to serve the players and gamemasters through craft and art as well as (and sometimes at the expense of) marketing and moneymaking. We appreciate your loyalty, and offer this communication to those who are curious about us, beyond the mere "product".

It is planned to be informal and irregular. We are, after all, not the Orderium.
